Golf Course
The Jack Nicklaus designed course is a par 72 measuring 5,938 metres (6,531 yards) from the yellow tees which is relatively short by modern standards but is ideal for resort and society golf. Unusually the course is very lightly bunkered has only two lakes but one of these measure some six hectares in size and plays a strategic role on a number of key holes which wrap themselves around this vast expanse of water. While being promoted as a desert style course by the designer it actually gives a links feel with many of the holes snaking between dunes with rolling fairways and undulating greens. The par 5 holes all measure under 480 metres and so are reachable for the longer hitters wanting to give the ball a belly wobbler but danger lurks for the errant shot particularly on the opening hole. Terrazas de La Torre is only 15 Km from the best beaches of the Mar Menor, and half way between these beaches and the city of Murcia. This makes it the ideal location for exploring everything the Region of Murcia has to offer, including the El Valle Nature Reserve which is only a few kilometres from the resort.
Beaches
With over 200km of sandy beaches stretching from the warm crystal clear waters of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean beaches of the La Manga Strip, across the craggy cliffs and coves of the Calblanque Natural Park and down to the sweeping bays of the Mediterranean resort of Aguilas, the Costa Calida (warm coast) has a wealth of beaches. Los Alcazares has one of the most beautiful Blue Flag beaches on the Costa Calida. Located 15 minutes from La Torre Golf Resort. Its palm lined promenade stretches aproximately four kilometres to Los Narejos. Dotted along the Los Alcazares and Los Narejos promenade there are several wooden beach bars "chiringuitos", where you can relax with a jug of sangria and watch the world go by. Lo Pagan & Santiago De La Ribera is also situated 15 minutes from La Torre Golf Resort. With two stunning beaches on the Mar Menor are ajoining and provide hours of enjoyment for the whole family. There are parks for the children, tapas bars and seafood resaurants on the beach as well as a wealth of water sports including canoeing, kite surfing etc. From the yacht club in Santiago De La Ribera you can take the ferry to the Tomas Maestre Marina, on the La Manga strip. This is a very pleasant 30 minute journey, and runs every tour.
