The annual town hall tax or IBI in Spain will depend upon the size of the property and also the location. The town hall tax is payable for the services that the town hall provides such as rubbish collection, street lighting and public amenities.
Approximate annual costs
2 bed apartment in spanish town 250 euros
2 bed apartment in golf resort     500 euros
3 bed villa in spanish town           450 euros
3 bed villa in golf resort               750 euros
These are approximate costs and you always find that golf resort properties have more expensive town hall tax than the local towns. The tax is a lot cheaper than the UK with the rubbish collection collected most days.
