EU Referendum Is It Affecting Spanish Property Sales ?

With the ongoing debate whether the UK should stay in the EU we are asked whether this has affected spanish property sales.

I am happy to confirm that we are still selling properties to UK buyers with this month one of our busiest this year. The only concern is how the exchange rate will be affected by the result of the vote but the savvy buyers are locking into the current attractive rates available.

There will always be a demand for spanish property due to the easy accessability,climate and the cheap cost of living .I would expect this is continue even if the UK leaves the EU. The Spanish economy relies on the UK tourists and property owners therefore we do not expect much to change no matter what the result of the vote.   


 

Location, Location, Location Where Is Best ?

When looking to purchase a property in Spain you may not be sure where the best location for you will be .With a few tips below you will be able to narrow down your search.

If you want 24 hour security on a gated complex then golf resorts is where you should search.

Looking to have a large plot in quiet location then rural country properties will provide you with the best buys.

If you want to have a real Spanish lifestyle then concentrate on properties that are within walking distance of spanish towns.

Looking for a property with a lively nightlife then head towards beach properties that are in commercial areas, a bit more expensive but everything is on your doorstep.

Spanish Mortgages Getting Easier To Obtain As Banks Start To Lend

The increase in lending has helped many buyers purchase their property in the sun. The spanish banks are now lending with mortgages being granted increasing by 14% compared to the previous year.

The banks are willing to lend up to 70% of the value or purchase price which ever is the lower and interest rates vary from around 3.5% . If you take out some of the banks products such as life cover,home insurance the rates will decrease.

The mortgage costs will be around 3% of the purchase price as you will have a mortgage arrangement fee, notary and land registry fees for the mortgage.

Cycling For Charity With Olympic Champion Chris Boardman

I completed the 81 mile Marie Curie Etape Caledonia Cycle Race 2016 on the 8th May and finished with a personal best time of 3 hours 39 minutes and finished a reputable 82nd out of the 3406 cyclists, not bad for a Grandad.

It was a great event and I rode with Chris Boardman the ex Olympic Gold Medal Winner and fortunately the sun shown down on us in Perthshire .

A big thanks to all who donated to the Marie Curie Care Charity and it is not too late if you wish to make a donation no matter how big or small to this worthwhile cause.
