With Easter approaching it has been a very busy first quarter of the year and the main interest in the Spanish market has been from the British market.
The previous 3 years it was the Belgium, Dutch and Scandanavian buyers who were the main nationalities who were purchasing property on the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida regions of Spain. They are still buying however most of our enquries now are from Brits looking to take advantage of the exchange rate and bargain property prices.

Record Breaking Visitors To A Place In The Sun Show In Manchester.
We attended the A Place In The Sun Live Show in Manchester this month and it was an incredible few days with 6,742 overseas property hunters visiting over 120 exhibitors in search for their place in the sun. This was a record breaking number with 3,000 people visiting on the Saturday alone. Our stand was very busy throughout the three days of the show and we were complimented by many prospective buyers on the information and tips that we provided them. We are now arranging viewing trips for many of the interested buyers.
There was an upbeat and buzzing atmosphere throughout the show with loads of beautiful properties on sale from around the world to suit all budgets and plenty of opportunities for visitors to quiz experts on their stands and during presentations.
The Hub area was jam-packed throughout the weekend as people queued to hear from industry experts talking about anything from planning your overseas property hunt; what, where and how to buy in Spain.Amanda, Jasmine, Jonnie and Laura were available for magazine signings and also appeared on stage in The Hub to offer their top tips and advice on buying property overseas.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS TO FURNISH A BRAND NEW PROPERTY IN SPAIN.
With many new property developments being built along the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida we are asked many times what would be the average cost of furnishing a standard 2 bed property.
There are many furniture pack options and the costs can vary depending on the quality and brand of furnishings.
I would estimate that the average cost to furnish a 2 bed property would be in the region of 6000 euros ( 4500 sterling). This would also include the white goods as most new developments do not include these in the purchase price. The cost of air conditioning units which would provide hot and cold air would be an additional 2000 euros ( 1400 sterling ) .
When buying beds it is a good idea to buy a couple of beds that have the under storage as this is an ideal place to keep the extra bed linen and towels etc. It is also worth considering that the other beds have enough room underneath to store suitcases.
A sofa bed is also a consideration in case you have some extra visitors and it might be better to get a leather suite as these are easier to clean off sun tan lotion or spilt drinks.
It is also important not to buy furniture before measuring up the rooms, we have seen some very bad planning with extra large furniture taking up every inch of some small apartments.
